Position Overview

Continental is looking for an Accounting Associate to assist with data entry & processing transactions in AR, AP, Time collection, Cash Receipts, Sales & Use Tax and job cost subledgers. The position resides in a high-volume transactional accounting department that directly supports the construction operations of the business and frequently interacts with department leads and operations support personnel.

Location

This position is based in the Millard suburb of Omaha, NE.

Responsibilities

  • Regular, reliable attendance in the office Monday – Friday
  • Enter transactions, vouch and code to cost structure, ensure approvals obtained   
  • Assist with cash disbursements & cash receipts, batching, applying, and filing supporting documents. 
  • Assist with time collection, vouching and transmitting to payroll, stuff and mail checks
  • Assist with Inspection billings, stuff and mail invoices
  • Assist with sales and use tax returns in a multi-state environment, maintain exemption certificates.
  • Obtain lien waivers and maintain in document imaging system
  • Research and reconcile account statements and resolve discrepancies

Qualifications

  • At least a High School Diploma and enrollment in College Level Accounting program with an accredited University.
  • Dependable and detail oriented with the ability to organize and prioritize the work product both individually and from others
  • Exposure to MS Office products, and willingness to learn Spectrum accounting applications.
