Position Overview

Responsible for leading and managing teams to successfully deliver complex proposals while implementing best practices. Collaborates effectively with the overall proposal team to develop and implement a proposal management plan, and lead the proposal team in developing complete, compliant, and compelling proposals on time.

District Overview

Kiewit Infrastructure Engineers (KIE) is a cutting-edge, multi-faceted division of our company that provides a variety of engineering services, including temporary and permanent design services on multiple large-scale projects in Canada, the United States and Mexico. As part of KIE, the infrastructure group's proposal services team supports Kiewit's proposal efforts from qualifications to interview phases. Team members enjoy working with a variety of design and construction teams to develop winning strategies and content for each proposal. We take a collaborative, integrated approach to developing winning proposals through brainstorming, critical concept meetings and regular proposal reviews.
 

Location

Kiewit Infrastructure Proposal Services (KIPS) has a position available immediately on its team in the Laval, Quebec or Oakville, Ontario office. The position may require travel as part of collaborative proposals to other offices within the company up to 10% of the time.
 

Responsibilities

•    Coordinate and develop proposal content based on the proposal management plan, developed in collaboration with the business development director, the Senior estimator and subject matter experts
•    Organize ideas, draft, edit and structure proposals documents, while making timely changes and revisions to documents after reviews.
•    Conduct interviews with executives, engineers, construction managers, lawyers, designers and others subject matter experts to generate original content highlighting the company's competitive advantages and best practices
•    Analyze and interpret contractual documents and qualification requirements in order to create functional matrices for preparing proposals (compliance matrix, outline of proposals, schedule, etc.)
•    Carry out the final review of all required elements to ensure the magazine of convincing, complete proposals that comply with the RFQ/RFP requirements

Qualifications

The successful candidate must possess the following qualifications:
•    Minimum of three years of experience writing/coordinating proposals in the engineering and/or construction industry, with emphasis on projects focused on collaborative modes
•    A bachelor’s degree in marketing/communications, journalism, English, construction management or equivalent is required
•    Strong verbal and written communication skills in both French and English
•    Ability to write concise, compelling and consistent copy through interviews with subject matter experts
•    Advanced knowledge and skills with Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe Creative Cloud
•    Strong, motivated team leader with the ability to work effectively with professionals from diverse environments
