Kiewit Industrial & Water Engineering (KIWE) is seeking Process Engineers to join our team with primary focus on the industrial and water markets.  You will be part of our growing team that is developing environmentally sustainable solutions that seamlessly transition from design plans to completed projects to exceed client expectations and further Kiewit’s legacy of excellence.

Our rapidly growing Industrial Engineering team, which includes process, mechanical, electrical, controls, structural, architectural, geotechnical, and civil disciplines, is a multi-faceted and leading-edge division of Kiewit with best-in-class technical expertise focused on EPC and design-build delivery of industrial projects in markets such as Food & Beverage, Mineral Processing, Renewable Fuels, Pulp and Paper, Steel & Aluminum, Industrial Buildings, and Industrial Energy, Water and Utilities. 

Location

This position is based out of Lenexa, KS. 

Responsibilities

•    Provide technical and process engineering for equipment and technology evaluation and selection.
•    Participate in studies and conceptual design development
•    Coordination with and evaluation of Technology Licensors, then working with them to develop integrated design packages
•    Conduct evaluations of full-scale plant operations, pilot studies and bench studies as required. 
•    Identify and evaluate process lifecycle costs.
•    Communicate/present industry trends, competitive situations or technology/regulatory issues.
•    Contribute to the development of client proposals and project cost estimates.
•    Participate in improving company resources and tools to improve design production and efficiency.
•    Interface with clients and partner engineers to support project and business development needs.
•    Work with design teams to optimize designs and ensure plant operational needs are properly addressed. 
•    Participate in the preparation of engineering reports, engineering drawings and specifications for projects such as basis of design, PFD’s, P&ID’s, mass and energy balances, process simulations, datasheets, and engineering calculations including equipment sizing.
•    Develop equipment specifications and performance requirements to define appropriate designs to meet project outcomes, working closely with OEMs and technology partners.
•    Provide front line issue resolution of technical issues associated with design, construction, equipment and/or operations.
•    Coordinate multiple projects simultaneously.

Qualifications

•    Bachelor's degree or higher in Chemical Engineering
•    Minimum of 4+ years of experience with duties such as process development, conceptual and detailed design of clean renewable energy solutions with a specific focus on biogas, biofuels, waste to energy [e.g., municipal solid waste, food, agricultural, forestry and biomass], thermochemical conversion technologies for producing syngas, renewable oils or other types of energy.
•    Preferred experience utilizing process modeling and simulation software applications such as Aspen Plus and/or HYSYS or equal.
•    Preferred experience as process design engineering lead.
•    Previous experience serving in a technical role for industrial process companies either at corporate or operating facilities.
