Location

This position will be based out of our Energy Corridor office. Opportunities for flexible work are available. 

Responsibilities

This position focuses on the design and specification of rotating equipment & their auxiliary systems in the oil and gas and petrochemical industries.  Responsibilities include:

  • Perform rotating equipment technology selection.
  • Evaluate equipment sizing, design, and performance to meet process duty requirements.
  • Prepare specifications with sufficient detail to define the equipment scope and technical requirements, including auxiliary systems, for inquiry and order of equipment on projects.
  • Perform technical bid evaluations.
  • Review vendor documents submitted for review or approval.  Act as the communication focal point for appropriate information/data between the vendor, client, and other disciplines.
  • Support installation, commissioning, and startup of rotating equipment.
  • Develop criteria, guidelines, and best practices for the equipment to provide for a safe, efficient, cost-effective, and reliable end product.
  • Mentor less experienced engineers.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from a four-year college or university.
  • At least 5+ years of experience in rotating equipment application specifically in the LNG, midstream, refining, and/or petrochemical industries.
  • Thorough (recognized authority) knowledge and application of: API standards for rotating equipment and their auxiliary systems; Best practices associated with rotating equipment and their auxiliary systems; Quality assurance methods and practices for manufacture of the equipment.
  • Strong understanding of underlying engineering principles of best practices.
  • Strong critical thinking skills.
  • Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and time management skills.
  • Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • Commitment to safety, ethics, and integrity.
