Position Overview
As a Senior Accountant in the Financial Reporting group, you will be primarily responsible for assisting in the preparation of the income tax provision, but you will also have the opportunity to assume other key financial reporting roles within the corporate accounting department.  You will be a key member in an evolving accounting department function focused on supporting operational and financial decision-makers.

This position is based within the controller’s/ corporate accounting group in Kiewit Plaza at 3555 Farnam Street in Omaha, NE.  This is a corporate office in a professional office setting. 

•    Assists in the preparation of the annual and quarterly consolidated income tax provision process under U.S. GAAP, ASC 740
•    Assists in the preparation of the consolidated effective tax rate, forecasts, and related analysis 
•    Prepares reconciliation of deferred tax asset/liability calculations 
•    Assist in various financial reporting tasks as part of the quarterly and year-end close processes 
•    Assists in the preparation, review and analysis of quarterly and year-end financial work papers and consolidations
•    Assists financial reporting supervisors with other accounting-related matters, ad hoc requests, and special projects 
•    Collaborate with corporate tax department for preparation of the consolidated provision and tax accounting matters, including research of technical tax topics 
•    Prepares related footnotes for parent and subsidiary financial statements 
•    Support internal and external auditors with the annual audit 

•    Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting
•    2+ years of experience in public accounting (audit or tax) 
•    Strong analytical skills. Ability to analyze underlying principles, reasons or facts surrounding financial reports
•    Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills 
•    Ability to collaborate within accounting and tax departments 
•    Ability to quickly adapt to field-based operational practices 
•    Willingness to assume additional financial reporting responsibilities in addition to the tax provision-related processes 
•    Excellent organizational skills, including ability to plan and prioritize work, and handle multiple projects simultaneously
•    Understanding of U.S. GAAP, specifically ASC 740 or experience in tax return preparation preferred 
•    Certified Public Accountant preferred
