Position Overview

This position is responsible for managing all maintenance, repairs, assembly, and modifications for assigned heavy civil construction equipment. Ensures assigned personnel and equipment follow regulatory requirements and company policies.

We are seeking Equipment Superintendents within the following equipment classes:
·    Cranes
·    Piling & Drilling Equipment 
·    Auxiliary Equipment – Material / Earth Moving & Portable Construction Equipment

Location

This position is located at our Greenville Yard in Jersey City, NJ.

Responsibilities

•    Prepare maintenance and capital budgets for assigned equipment
•    Enforce company’s standard operating procedures
•    Monitor schedule and budget on active equipment work
•    Order parts and schedule vendor services
•    Oversight of equipment maintenance records
•    Conduct frequent jobsite visits and inspections (Transportation Provided)
•    Promote safety as the top priority by enforcing the company and jobsite safety plan, along with all safety-related regulations
•    Supervise and develop skills of assigned maintenance personnel

Qualifications

•    3+ years of experience in heavy equipment maintenance including experience in one or more of the following equipment classes; cranes, piling & drilling equipment, and/or auxiliary equipment
•    1+ years of supervisory experience
•    Ability to read and understand technical drawings and schematics
•    The above-mentioned experience can be substituted with Military Occupation Specialty experience. See (MOS) codes, but not limited to the following 91A, 91B, 91H, 91L, 91M, 91X, 91Z
    
Required Certifications or Licenses :
•    Driver’s License


 Physical Requirements: 
•    Must be able to lift or carry miscellaneous equipment, supplies and parts up to 50 lbs. unassisted
•    Ability to stand, walk, bend, squat and lift for long periods of time 
•    Ability to work at heights, climb ladders and stairways and work from platforms
•    Must be capable of working outside in the elements including but not limited to the heat, cold, rain, snow, and wind; and must be able to work for periods of up to 12 hours a day
