The Lead Business Analyst role is focused on supporting a project in accounting and finance related functions.  Each project at Weeks Construction is run like a small business, with the Analyst concentrated on critical tasks such as cost control, payroll, accounts payable/receivable, human capital management, and compliance.  This position will become skilled executing processes and utilizing tools related to different types of cost and revenue components such as labor, construction equipment, materials, and subcontracts.  The Business Analyst will be an integral part of the month end close out process, and assist with preparing a financial reporting package for project management.

Location

This is an in office position, with the expecation to report to an office setting, daily. This position can work out of either Cranford, NJ or Houston, TX This is not a remote or hybrid position. 

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities & Competencies:

  • Demonstrates a strong understanding of the Accounts Payable workflow, with the ability to effectively troubleshoot vendor and payment-related issues
  • Manages assigned workflows to ensure timely and accurate processing of vendor invoices
  • Processes a high volume of invoices while maintaining a high level of accuracy
  • Performs three-way match reconciliation (purchase order, goods receipt, and invoice)
  • Conducts weekly payroll verification to ensure accuracy and compliance
  • Possesses a solid understanding of payroll and HR process workflows
  • Proficient in HR systems used to hire, transfer, terminate, and process payroll for employees
  • Performs routine clerical duties, including filing, copying, and data entry

Qualifications

  • 7+  years of financial/payroll/data analysis experience
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook
  • Experience working with Pivot Tables, V-Look Ups, and other key excel functions is preferred
  • Effective communication (both oral and written), organization and interpersonal skills.
  • Good attention to detail with the ability to recognize discrepancies
  • Positive attitude, eagerness to learn, and passionate for continuous improvement
  • Must be able to freely access all parts of a construction site in wide-ranging climates and environments
  • Ability to work independently, as well as part of a team. 
  • Ability to work in the United States without sponsorship, both now and in the future
  • Preferred to have experience in accounting focused administrative or clerk role
    •    Ability to be flexible and adapt to new processes and procedures in order to ensure efficiency and excellence in A/P Processing
    •    Ability to work with a high degree of accuracy with minimal supervision in a high-volume environment
    •    Ability to understand both functional and end-to-end processes and controls
    •    Ability to understand the implications of new information for both current and future problem solving and decision making
    •    Critical thinking and problem-solving skills; ability to use logic and reasoning to analyze and identify the strengths and  weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems

Base Compensation: $80,000/yr - $84,000/yr

(Actual compensation is subject to variation due to such factors as education, experience, skillset, and/or location)
