Position Overview

We are seeking a skilled Marine Logistics and Dredging Coordinator to oversee and help manage our dredging and coastal restoration operations. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership abilities, excellent logistical coordination skills, a solid understanding of regulatory compliance, particularly Coast Guard regulations.

Location

This position will be based out of our District Home Office in Covington, LA. 

Responsibilities

  • This position will provide administrative and logistics support for our operations teams. 
  • Logistics Management: Manage logistics for equipment, personnel, and materials required for dredging and restoration projects, ensuring efficient deployment and utilization.
    • Asset tracking & cost tracking 
  • Dispatch Operations: Plan and coordinate vessel movements and scheduling for dredging operations, optimizing resources and maintaining compliance with safety and environmental regulations.
  • Client Liaison: Serve as the primary point of contact for clients regarding logistics inquiries, updates, and issue resolution.
  • Supply Chain Management: Oversee inventory control and supply chain logistics to optimize efficiency and minimize costs.
  • Compliance and Safety: Ensure compliance with maritime regulations, safety standards, and company policies throughout all logistical operations.
  • Risk Management: Identify potential risks and challenges associated with dredging and restoration projects, developing and implementing mitigation strategies as needed.
  • Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate records of project activities, including daily progress reports, equipment logs, and safety documentation. May assist in preparation of comprehensive project reports for stakeholders.
  • Perform clerical tasks including data entry, filing, photocopying, scanning, etc.
  • Perform other administrative duties as required or assigned by operations management. 
     

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in STEM focused program or a related field preferred.
  • Proven experience in marine logistics, dredging operations, or coastal restoration projects, with a strong understanding of project management principles.
    • 2-3 years of experience in marine logistics is preferred, but not required. 
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills, with the ability to effectively coordinate and prioritize multiple tasks in a dynamic environment.
  • Knowledge of environmental regulations and permitting processes related to dredging and coastal restoration.
  • Proficiency in project management software and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Leadership qualities with the ability to motivate and lead cross-functional teams towards achieving project goals.
  • Willingness to travel and work in various marine environments as required by project demands.
  • Must be willing to field phone calls on nights and weekends as needed.
