Position Overview
The Craft Recruiter is a valuable member of the Aero team and works closely with the Construction and Service Departments to recruit and hire qualified craft construction workers and field technicians. In this role, you will be responsible for leading our craft recruiting efforts and assisting new hires with onboarding activities. You may also be relied upon to support other internal departments with special projects and initiatives outside of your normal day to day tasks. This job requires a self-motivated individual that can work independently and as a part of a team to successfully support hiring and onboarding efforts.

District Overview
Aero Automatic Sprinkler Company, a subsidiary of Kiewit Corporation, is one of the Southwest’s largest and most respected fire protection contractors. With its roots in Phoenix, Arizona, Aero operates through branch offices in Arizona & Colorado, and takes on work all over the Southern US. Aero offers complete services for all construction market types and any size project, as well as complete testing and maintenance services.

This position is based out of our Phoenix, AZ Offices.
Responsibilities
• Lead craft recruiting and sourcing efforts, providing timely and professional assistance to hiring managers and creating requisitions with a quick turnaround time
• Assist craft candidates in building or updating their profiles in the recruiting database
• Maintain a consistent flow of qualified candidates using active and passive sourcing methods and employee referrals
• Conduct initial candidate screening and verify candidate certifications and licenses
• Facilitate new hire onboarding including new hire paperwork, background and drug screens, I-9’s, orientation, and training
• Process and submit onboarding paperwork to payroll/people management systems
• Identify and embrace ways to attract qualified candidates and increase craft recruiting effectiveness
• Ensure compliance with established procedures and applicable laws
• Provide on-site backup HR support upon request and dependent on availability
• Partner with Operations teams to proactively plan for upcoming hiring needs.
• Partner with internal departments and provide additional support as needed
Qualifications
• 2+ years of recruiting experience - preferably in the construction industry.
• Bilingual (English/Spanish) highly preferred
• Regular, reliable attendance during normal business hours
• Strong interpersonal skills, approachable, with ability to gain trust and respect of others
• Ability to develop and maintain collaborative working relationships within and across groups, working towards solutions that benefit all involved parties
• Strong time management, with ability to balance multiple priorities and maximize timely and quality output in a fast-paced environment
• Organized and detail-oriented, with ability to solve problems independently
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with people at all levels of the organization
• Ability to demonstrate appropriate professionalism, emotional intelligence, and maintain confidentiality
• Energetic, motivated self-starter who takes initiative to get things done
• Ability to travel locally for job-fairs, presentations, and other events on occasion
• High level of proficiency with Microsoft Office applications to include; Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint #LI-AK1
