Position Overview

This position is responsible for managing all maintenance, repairs, and modifications for assigned equipment. Ensures assigned personnel and equipment are in compliance with regulatory requirements and company policies.

Location

This position is located at our Houma Yard in Houma, Louisiana.

Responsibilities

•    Promote company safety culture.
•    Establish and implement preventative and routine maintenance procedures.
•    Act as a technical advisor to ensure maintenance and repairs are completed correctly and safely.
•    Supervision of all assigned maintenance personnel.
•    Evaluate maintenance personnel and develop their technical skills.
•    Monitor schedule and budget on active equipment work.
•    Collect and maintain equipment records.
•    Assist Sr. Equipment Superintendent to prepare and submit maintenance and capital budgets for assigned equipment to Equipment Manager.
•    Work with Equipment Manager and Sr. Equipment Superintendent to continually develop the company’s maintenance procedures and standards. 
•    Coordinate maintenance work with Yard Supervisors and outside vendors.
•    Generate purchase requisitions for parts and vendor services.
•    Generate work orders and AFEs (Authorization for Expenditure).
•    Frequent jobsite visits and inspections.

Qualifications

Qualifications
•    5 + years of experience in heavy construction equipment field.
•    3 + years of experience with cranes.
•    3 + years of supervisory experience.
•    Working knowledge of the following is preferred:
    Diesel engines
    Hydraulic systems
    Air systems.
    Crane controls.
    Friction and hydraulic hoists.
    AC/DC generators and electric motors.
•    Ability to read and understand technical drawings and schematics.
•    Proficient skills in standard office software packages.
•    Ability to work flexible schedule with additional hours as needed.
•    Ability to travel as needed.
•    This position requires fluent use of the verbal and written English language and an understanding of crane hand signals.
•    Ability to communicate in Spanish is a plus.
Required Certifications or Licenses 
•    Driver’s License
•    TWIC - Transportation Worker Identification Credential
Physical Requirements
•    Must be able to tolerate working on the water, vibrations, heat, harsh weather conditions, confined spaces, and high noise levels.
•    Must be able to lift or carry miscellaneous equipment, supplies and parts up to 50 lbs. unassisted.
•    Ability to stand, walk, bend, squat and lift for long periods of time. 
•    Ability to work at heights, climb ladders and stairways and work from platforms.
•    Must be capable of working outside in the elements including, but not limited to the heat, cold, rain, snow, and wind; and must be able to work for periods of up to 12 hours a day.
