Position Overview

The Junior Port Engineer works for and with Port Engineers and Maintenance Engineers in the management of maintenance and repairs to dredging division’s equipment.

This position will be based in Houma LA

Responsibilities


●    Assist, Port Engineer in all duties and responsibilities
●    Assist in preparing and submitting maintenance and capital budgets for assigned equipment
●    Assist in preparing specifications, scheduling, and management of equipment repair periods for equipment such as boats, barges, industrial barges and dredges, and/or land base heavy equipment such as excavators, cranes, dozers and marsh buggies
●    Frequent equipment and jobsite visits and inspections
●    Perform other duties as assigned by Port Engineer or Maintenance Engineers

Qualifications

●    3+ years of experience in related field, Marine, offshore or heavy industrial background preferred
●    Associate degree or higher in a marine or engineering discipline preferred
●    Proficient skills in AutoCAD a plus
●    Proficient skills in standard office software packages
●    Ability to work a flexible schedule, additional hours as needed
●    Ability to travel extensively
●    This position requires fluent use of the verbal and written English language and understand hand signals
